I'm retiring from show biz for a couple of weeks (I'm going to do it like Jay-Z and just retire whenever I need a break) to finish my D-to the -I-S-S-E-R-T-A-T-I-O-N, but you can still catch "me" on stage in Teatro Luna's newest show, Solo Tu. Solo Tu is a collection of four solos about pregnancy, including my piece
Bitter Ole Hag, performed by the very talented Dana Cruz, who plays me in the story of my life. Look:

TimeOut Chicago gave Solo Tu Five Stars and says it is "our most focused and potent work to date...an expert balance of anecdote and interior psychology, one liner–spiced street sass and earnest vulnerability... superb, highly differentiated performances." (TimeOut Chicago)
And here's what the Chicago Reader had to say about yours truly:
Even those of us who've grown weary of the 'to breed or not to breed' conflicts afflicting postmillennial womanhood will find much to admire in this quartet of smart, searing autobiographical monologues from Teatro Luna. The authors (who don't perform) open up with warmth, wit, and occasional rancor about the profound difficulties of confronting pregnancy, whether planned, unplanned, or--in the case of Coya Paz's terrific Bitter Old Hag--unattainable. Director Tanya Saracho (who also penned Not a Thing, about her abortion) keeps self-pity from seeping into the performances. And the writing is as sharp as any solo work I've seen in years--a treasure trove of gutsy, riveting truth telling.
So, come see the show!!!!!
