I can't promise I'll do the Running Man, but you never know. I can promise some really lovely poems from some really lovely ladies, plus an open mic featuring some of Chicago's best Latino poets.

Suzanne Frischkorn was born in Hialeah, Florida to a Cuban father and an American mother of Spanish descent. She is the author of four chapbooks, most recently, Spring Tide, selected by Mary Oliver for the Aldrich Poetry Award. Her poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including Indiana Review's Latina & Latino Writers Issue, Margie, 88, Poet Lore, and Conversation Pieces: Poems That Talk to Other Poems, part of the Everyman's Library Pocket Series, (Knopf, 2007). She is the recipient of a 2007 Artist Fellowship from the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism. Her website is www.suzannefrischkorn.net.

Coya Paz is the cofounder of Teatro Luna, Chicago’s first and only all-Latina theater company. Coya was raised in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Columbia, and Brazil, and moved permanently to the US in the late 1980’s. She is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Performance Studies at Northwestern University, where she also holds her MA. In 2006-2007, she is the Artist-In-Residence at the University of Chicago’s Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture. She has collaborated with Teatro Luna on all of the ensemble built projects (Generic Latina, Dejame Contarte/Let Me Tell You, The Maria Chronicles, S-E-X-Oh! and the upcoming Machos). Coya has appeared in numerous independent film and performance projects, and enjoys singing in the shower. She is a contributor to the Oxford University Encyclopedia of Latino/as in the United States and her artistic work has been featured in The New York Times, American Theater Magazine, Theater Journal, and the Chicago Tribune, among others.

Hello folks,

What online mags do you read and would recommend? I am a crazy fan of rockabilly.

For all you rockabilly folks out there I recommend The Enough Fanzine. It is one of the first ska zines on the web.

They have throusands of interviews from the most underground bands all over the world. Check them out online: Enough Fanzine. Best of it all, they are 100% non-profit and just helping the scene!

Looking forward to your recommendations.

Regards!
